Honor Play goes out-of-stock in 5 min on Amazon India claims company, next sale on August 8
Huawei
sub-brand Honor launched a new flagship smartphone, the Honor Play with
GPU Turbo support in India for a starting price of Rs 19,990. After the
launch on Monday, the Honor Play went on sale via Amazon India store
and Honor's e-store at 4PM. The company now claims that the smartphone
went out-of-stock in just 5 minutes. Not only that, Honor also asserts
that the Honor Play "is the fastest flagship sale ever".
"Honor
Play created a new record by selling out on Amazon in a record-breaking
time of 5 mins," notes the company. The next sale of the Honor Play is
set to happen on August 8, that is tomorrow exclusively on Amazon India
store. The smartphone comes in two variants -- the base model with 4GB
RAM and 64GB of internal storage for Rs 19,990, while the second model
with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage comes with a price tag of Rs 23,990. The
storage memory can be expandable by up to 256GB via a hybrid micro-SD
card slot.
The smartphone
company says that "particularly for the sale on Amazon, the Honor Play
4GB RAM & 64GB ROM variant available in Midnight Black colour was
highly appreciated and instantly sold out." The Honor Play comes in two
colours -- blue and black.

on the sale record, P Sanjeev Vice President Sales of Huawei
India-Consumer Business Group says, "We are extremely delighted by the
overwhelming response for Honor Play which has resulted in the fastest
flagship sale ever on Amazon. This is the first-time Indian consumers
have been able to buy a real flagship performance smartphone at sub 20k.
Honor Play is a powerful performer with our high-end AI Kirin 970
processor with GPU turbo for gaming lovers. The AI camera, battery,
quick charge has been warmly welcomed. We are deeply encouraged and will
continue to offer exciting phones to Honor fans".

The
Honor Play has a 6.3-inch 1080p+ IPS LCD display with a notch on top.
The smartphone is powered by Kirin 970 processor which comes with Neural
Processing Unit that specialises in the acceleration of Machine
Learning (ML) algorithms to perform AI tasks. The Honor Play runs
Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.2 and packs a 3,750mAh battery and
supports fast charging.
The Honor Play comes with a dual rear
camera setup consisting of the primary sensor of 16-megapixel and
secondary sensor of 2-megapixel for depth sensing. On the front, the
smartphone comes with a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture.
