Oppo teases India launch of its F9 Pro
Chinese smartphone brand Oppo has released the teaser of its Oppo F9 Pro launch in India on Twitter with a tagline: ‘The breaking new vision’ with ‘F9 Pro is coming’. Oppo has also teased the launch in Malaysia with a tagline of ‘F9 is coming’. The Malaysian version also adds that Oppo F9 will have a ‘waterdrop screen’ but we don’t know if the ‘waterdrop screen’ is a hint at the display-quality or a splash-proof rating of IP67.
Hints at an Essential phone-like smaller notch display and a dual-rear camera setup
F9 Pro’s official teaser shows a smaller notch display as seen in the Essential phone. An older teaser had users speculating about the phone coming with dual-rear cameras and not a single 16MP camera as seen in Oppo F7. It had also teased that the F9 is ‘coming soon’.
As of now, no clear confirmation has emerged about Oppo F9 and Oppo F9 Pro. However, if we take into consideration the smaller notch display and dual-rear cameras, it seems similar to models like the PBCM00 and PBCT00 which were of late certified in China.
So, speculations are that these two models only will debut as Oppo F9 and Oppo F9 Pro globally and as Oppo R17 and R17 Pro in the Chinese market.
According to the listing, these rumoured Oppo models would be coming with a large 6.3-inch OLED display with 19:9 aspect ratio, dimensions of 156.7x74x7.9mm, a dual-rear camera setup and a 3415mAh battery. Apart from these probable features, the smartphones are expected to come with the power of a MediaTek Helio P60 or Snapdragon 710 processors along with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. They also might come with 3D face unlock feature which has become quite common since the launch of Apple iPhone X.
